Fashion Portfolio

A-Level Art Work

A-Level Textile Design Work

The fourth picture I have chosen is a piece I made as part of my GCSE work, as part of the self-thought topic Fashion.
The next group of pictures I have submitted are part of my textile design A-level coursework. The design brief for my second year of A-level was to carry out research into the upcoming spring/summer and autumn/winter 2010 trends, and from this research design a tailored suit that follows some of the trends. The first two pictures from my textile work are the trend boards I created, which looked at the autumn/winter collections of Chanel and Vivienne Westwood. Taking inspiration from Chanel’s collection, I designed seven suits, two of which I have included in this portfolio (third and fourth pictures). The next two pictures are of my final product, a tailored jacket and matching wrap-around pleated skirt. I have also included pictures of a 40’s style inspired skirt I made in my first year of A-level textile design.

The reason I have chosen to apply for this course is that I have always been passionate about fashion and would love nothing more than to study it full time. I am extremely organised and love to design and develop ideas, as well as modify existing pieces, and so a future career in fashion is my dream.
